Our Story:
Founded in 2020 during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Immersive Arts Alliance (IAA) was born from a resolve to not only endure but also to innovate. As the world grappled with unprecedented challenges, we saw an opportunity to rethink the role of immersive art in the Bay Area.

Shelley Trott
President
Shelley has been President of IAA’s Board since its inception in early 2020. As the Executive Director of the Kenneth Rainin Foundation she brings extensive nonprofit and philanthropy experience. Under Shelley’s leadership, the Rainin arts program established a reputation for taking smart risks and gained national recognition for its visionary work. Shelley was instrumental in establishing the Community Arts Stabilization Trust (CAST), an inventive nonprofit model founded on the belief that the arts promote strong, vibrant, diverse communities.

Issabella Grantham
Vice President
Issabella is a seasoned digital marketing and communications professional, adept at conveying complex ideas through diverse digital and traditional media channels. Her passion for the arts in the Bay Area is reflected in her role as the former executive director of The Great Wall of Oakland, a prominent 100'x100' outdoor digital art and film venue in downtown Oakland. Additionally, she managed digital marketing for the Oakland Museum of California, enhancing its online presence and community engagement. Currently, Issabella leads a marketing team in the healthcare sector, where she continues to champion the arts through her involvement with IAA.

Jonathan Crawford
Executive Director
Jonathan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and a minor in Music, starting his career at Booz Allen Hamilton, a top consulting firm. Jonathan’s transition to the arts began upon moving to San Francisco in 2017, where he now resides as an active musician and music producer. He is passionate about bringing an interdisciplinary focus to the arts, and holds a strong belief in the transformative and healing power of creative expression.

Hope Hutman
Hope Hutman (she, they) is an Oakland, CA-based artist whose immersive and interactive installations and performances explore the intersection of technology, culture, and the human experience. Hope's work has been featured at venues such as the Williamstown Theater Festival, Yerba Buena Center for The Arts, and on Twitch.tv, and they have been a featured speaker at conferences including HASTAC and Digital Hollywood
Currently, Hope is adapting Ntozake Shange's novel Liliane into a live, in-theater performance, presented in mixed reality. Hope is also a dedicated educator and mentor, inspiring the next generation of artists and creators.

Jayson Tang
Jayson is a Creative Director with a rich history of leading the creation of immersive digital and physical experiences. He has developed Salesforce video wall content for offices in the USA, Australia, Japan, and India. Jayson collaborated with dancers from the San Francisco Ballet on a VR experience and produced video content for large-scale video walls like the Oakland Great Wall. As the founder of a digital installation company and a VR production company, his films have been featured in over 15 international festivals. Recently, he has designed events for top clients like Google, ServiceNow, Adobe Systems, Cisco Systems, and T-Mobile.

Patrick Raab
Patrick is Market Initiatives Lead for Google X, the “moonshot factory”, where he works on business development and strategic initiatives to accelerate innovation and commercialize energy transition solutions.

Avani Wildani
Avani was previously an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Emory University. Now at Cloudfare, an industry-leading IT services management company, she leads a team of researchers in networking, cryptography, and computer systems.
